A beautiful weekend follows a cold Friday night
The sun came out and brightened our Friday. A cool, brisk breeze is setting us up for a cold night. Dress for cold if you are going to be out and about this evening. Temperatures will tumble from 40s to 30s through 10 PM. Low temperatures by morning will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Some of our high school football teams are in the playoffs, and they'll be playing tonight. If you're going to one of the games, you will need the warm layers of clothing and the heavy coats. Aside from the cold, weather will be perfect.
This sets us up for a beauty of a weekend. Saturday will be sunny with a chilly start within a degree or two on either side of 30 degrees in the morning. We will warm into the mid-50s by noon and warm to a high in the upper 50s by 2-3 PM. Then we will begin cooling into another cold night.
Sunday will be sunny. The morning will start cold in the low-to-mid 30s. We will warm to almost 60 degrees by noon and into the 60s for the mid-afternoon.
The cold will gradually ease beyond Sunday throughout next week. Monday through Wednesday will stay dry. A mid-level low pressure wave will sneak by on Thursday and Friday and bring a quick dousing with it. Confidence is low in timing at this point, and we will be fine tuning and solidifying the forecast in the next 4-5 days. At the earliest, this system arrives on Thursday. At the latest, this system arrives early Friday. Aside from the morning, Friday will be mostly dry before a weak Gulf disturbance arrives with more rain next Saturday.
