A tease of fall today; even cooler this weekend

Happy Tuesday! We are off to a cool start to our Tuesday with temperatures mainly in the low-to-mid-60s. Although this is a lot cooler than where we have been as of late, our Tuesday morning lows are still above average for this time of year. We are waking up to overcast skies this morning, but the clouds will gradually break away as we head throughout your Tuesday. Highs will be in the low-80s, which is right around average for this time of year. Clear skies and light winds overnight will lead to Wednesday morning lows mainly in the upper-50s and low-60s. Temperatures will climb back into the upper-80s to near 90 by Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, with pop-up shower and storm chances returning by Thursday. A cold front will be moving in from the west as we close out the work week, and this one is expected to bring even cooler weather to our area.

The exact timing of this frontal passage is still a bit unclear, but right now expect scattered showers and storms mainly on Friday and into our first half of Saturday. This frontal passage could put an end to our Football Friday dry streak, so be prepared to possibly bring some rain gear to the games. Despite the rain chances, a wash-out is not expected, and this front will not make a huge dent in our near-drought conditions. If the timing of the front is more on the Friday afternoon, a few strong storms will be possible with gusty winds as the threat. If the timing is more towards the overnight hours, strong storms will not be expected and thunder would be hard to come by as well. All of this is subject to change as confidence grows in the timing of the frontal passage, so keep up to date with the latest forecast on that.

Temperatures on Saturday are not expected to even get to 70 degrees with the cloud cover around and the cooler air filtering in behind the frontal passage. Temperatures are expected to drop into upper-40s by Sunday morning, making it one of the coolest mornings since last spring. Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s, which will actually be below average for this time of year. Monday morning temperatures will be in the low-50s, with afternoon highs in the low-80s.
