JPD: Two children shot near UMMC in Jackson

UPDATE: Jackson Police Chief James Davis this is not an active shooter situation. Two kids were shot on State St. and driven onto the campus of UMMC. The shooter is still at large.
Jackson police confirm by a tweet that two small children were hurt after shots were fired into a car. Police say a 1-year old and 3-year old were shot. Chief Davis says both are in stable condition. One was shot in the leg and the other shot in the torso.
They say the suspect is driving an unknown dark-colored vehicle.

According to a text received by UMMC students and staff, an active shooter has been reported at UMMC at Parking Garage B.
WLBT reports police have shut down State Street at Woodrow Wilson around Parking Garage B.
