PACHUTA, Miss. (WTOK) - Two sheriff departments are investigating a shooting that took place in either Clarke County or Jasper County Tuesday.

Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp says a man entered the Pachuta Travel Plaza with a gunshot wound just before 6:30 p.m. Kemp says the man had been shot in the shoulder and was not that cooperative. He says the two departments aren't exactly certain where the shooting incident took place.

“He explained that he was down the road and someone allegedly shot him in the arm. He was not very cooperative at the time. He said he would try to handle his own business, but officers were persistent in trying to find out exactly what happened,” Kemp says.

The man was transported to a Meridian hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
