MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)- It's that time of the year where customers do their early Christmas shopping without breaking the bank.
"Black Friday is the excitement of all excitements," Bonita Lakes Mall general manager, Renee Williams.
Bonita Lakes Mall in Meridian was busy for much of the day. Stores and "pop-up" shops offered deep discounts and specials.
"I had been in the store two time's day. Every time I’ve gone the sales have been even harder and crowds are bigger," says Bonita Lakes Mall director Debby Delshad.
Some stores offered discounts of up 50% off their entire inventory. Stores like Bath and Body Works offered huge Black Friday deals including buy three, get three free.
"A lot of hot deals that we're seen this year have been electronics, kitchen equipment, and accessories,” says Williams.
"We have found some buy one and get one free's in several different stores that we have taken advantage of," says Black Friday shopper Mandi Bates.
Around this time it can get a little hectic with thousands of people hunting for Black Friday deals.
"We got in here early around 7 am and it's been crazy. It’s getting crazier and crazier as the day goes on. We love it," says the owner of Custom Engraved Jeweler, Lee Acer.
"I’ve been around Meridian the entire day and it's not as hectic as it once was, but it's still crazy," says Black Friday shopper, Gavin Mosley.
Black Friday remains one of the busiest shopping days of the year - last year, more than 165 million people shopped between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.
