QUITMAN, Miss. (WTOK) - It was Quitman’s first Martin Luther King Jr. Black Heritage Banquet
The banquet honored the leaders in the community by bringing forth people who follow the work of Martin Luther King Jr. They discussed many messages that Dr. King preached. Thaddeus Edmondson gave a preach talking putting a stop to the drugs, killing and focus on coming together and doing better.
"It brings people together in unity. Dr. King talked about the community when people came together and worked together for a common cause for education, senior citizen, voter’s right and voter’s education," Edmondson says.
He says that we must dwell on education and community development.
