Boil alert lifted in Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, Miss. (WTOK) - A precautionary Boil Water Alert for Waynesboro was lifted Friday.

The Mississippi State Department of Health says tests of the water indicate it's safe to drink.

The advisory was issued earlier for approximately 60 connections on Pinkerton Road & Extension, Turner Street south of Pinkerton, Highway 63, Airport Road, Marshall Durbin Drive, Odom Industry Drive, Roosevelt Drive and Industrial Park from Turner Street to Marshall Durbin Drive.

MSDH advises residents to flush faucets after a boil alert has been lifted:
1 faucet - run for 10 minutes
2 faucets - run both for 5 minutes
3 faucets - run each for 3-4 minutes

The agency also recommends discarding any drinks, ice or food made during the alert, re-washing any items that come in contact with food or drink, checking water filters and running the dishwasher through a cycle or two before washing dishes.
