MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - A hearing for the city of Meridian's executive and finance and records budget was held Tuesday morning.

Several requests were presented to the City Council including the continued funding of the city's electronic time keeping system. Chief Administrative Officer Richie McAlister says it appears the council was open to keeping that going.

“We also talked about the Lakeview Golf Course and reducing some of our overhead there to get the expenses more in line with the revenue that is coming in there,” McAlister says.

“[Tuesday] I think you saw the administration and the council working together,” McAlister says. “We do have a lot of time left to continue to work on this budget and get it fined tuned to where we need to be with our expenditures matching our revenue by the end of September.”

A City Council Work Session will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. where the budget will be discussed further.
