Christmas parade may be rescheduled again

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - The city of Meridian is considering rescheduling the annual Christmas parade for a second time due to expected inclement weather.

The forecast from the National Weather Service is predicting a strong chance of showers for Saturday, Dec. 8.

City officials say they are looking at moving the parade to another day this week or to a date next week.

Community development director, Laura Carmichael, says the weather might cause some delays, but the parade will still happen.

"So we are looking at dates whether it be earlier or later this week, or on into next week, but there will be a Christmas parade in downtown city of Meridian," Carmichael said.

City officials will make a final decision by Wednesday morning.
