LAUDERDALE County, Miss. (WTOK) - 2019 is a big election year for the state of Mississippi and there have been recent changes to some local polling places.

There are four changes in the Lauderdale County, two of which affect registered city voters. Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson says the polling location at First Baptist Church has now moved to Prince of Peace Fellowship Church. Voters in Collinsville will now be heading to Collinsville Baptist church. Mt. Barton will be a new precinct and Russell Baptist Church take over from the Russell Community Center.

“We will be notifying the voters with new voter registration cards to let them know their precinct has been changed. The August primary is the first Tuesday in August. We constantly remind people about making sure you’re voting in the right precinct so your vote will count,” Johnson says.

The primary elections will take place August 6, 2019.
