City Council will have a public hearing for city employees

Meridian. Ms (WTOK) - Next week the Meridian city council is holding a special meeting Tuesday to discuss alleged hostile work environments.

This comes after council members voted 3-2 Tuesday to have the meeting. The council discussed that the meeting be in a public hearing format so employees can speak on the record about their work experiences. City Council President Tyrone Johnson voted in favor of the meeting. He encourages employees to come forward.

"I definitely want to encourage all the employees who work here at the city to come out and state your claim. Don't be anonymous, you are protected. We're giving you guys this platform to use,” said Johnson.

The hearing is set for 9:15 am next Tuesday morning.
