QUITMAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Hard work paid off for a select group of teachers and administrators in Quitman Monday night.
These educators were recognized for creating excellence in the Quitman Public School District. They were honored at Quitman's school auditorium.
Teachers and administrators showed off their awards at the district's board meeting. Even Clarke County's sheriff received an award for keeping kids safe every day at school.
The school's principal said she is honored to be recognized after being at the school for only two years.
"It was a great honor to receive this award as administrator of the year,” said Leah Ivey. "This is my second year as principal at Quitman Upper Elementary. It's a great place to be within the school district. It's really special.”
The Quitman School District gives out these awards each year.
