Casey Shoemaker is the owner of this fourth generation business that's been operating in Union since 1955. Casey's great-grandfather, Alvis Smith, founded the store. It was handed down to Alvis's son, Harold Smith, and five years ago, Casey bought it and has been in charge ever since.

"Since I was a kid and ever since I could walk, I grew up in this store," said Casey. "I know every nook and cranny. It's been my life."

The Union Supply Company has a little bit of everything in the store, Paint, electrical needs, plumbing supplies and general housewares can be found, along with fishing and outdoor items.

In fact, many customers have said it you can't find what you need here, you don't need it. But Casey says his top priority is providing great customer service.

"We keep our values and traditions and everything. Technology has changed and the merchandise has changed but as far as we handle business and the way we treat our customers has been the same for 65 years. It's worked for us to far and it's what we're going to keep doing."

One thing that will capture your eye is the vintage 1955 model coke machine, which still operates and is a great conversation piece.

"If I had a nickel every time one has gone through it, we'd all retire. I've always said, if something ever comes through, a tornado or whatever, that coke machine, it's going to be standing right there. It's the only thing in this store that's never move.

The Union Supply Company and Hardware. A throwback in time and serving folks in these pars for 65 years, and counting.
