MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - More than 300 people attended Ducks Unlimited's annual charity event in Meridian Thursday at the MSU Riley Center.

The fundraiser had different auctions, raffles and drawings to support Ducks Unlimited's commitment to conservation of wildlife habitats.

The chairman explains just how important it is for the community to help out with the cause.

"It's what you do today that really makes things possible for the future. And when you think about it from that standpoint, that's what this is really all about," said area chairman Chip Hines. "Kind of leaving the world a better place after you're gone."

The Meridian chapter is in the top five in the state.
