09/08/19 - ** A Heat Advisory continues through 7pm this evening for all of East Mississippi and West Alabama.
While most of the week ahead will be hot and dry, there is a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm Monday afternoon. There is a stalled frontal boundary north of the area that is pulling in warm Gulf moisture into east Mississippi and west Alabama. Areas along and south of the boundary will have an increased chance of a shower or storm tomorrow. The chance is still relatively low - only around 20 percent.
An upper level ridge will take control of our weather Tuesday through Friday of this upcoming week keeping us dry and our temperatures above average. Next weekend could showcase our next best chance of seeing more widespread rain coverage.
