MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Heavy rains from Tuesday have been causing problems on roadways across our area.
Clarke County EMA Director Eddie Ivy says Collins Lane in Stonewall is damaged by flooding. One lane is open. County Road 694 is also damaged by flooding and reduced to one lane. County Road 320 is blocked and closed.
Clarke County Hot Topics reported a water rescue Wednesday morning on Interstate 59. A man drove into water, and the car ended up turning on its side. Wrecker services reported several vehicles hydroplaned into water and needed help to get out of it Tuesday night.
As of 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, Mosley Bridge Road in Choctaw County is closed due to flooding. As of 9:15 a.m., Bronson Road in Lauderdale County is also closed.
At noon Wednesday, Lauderdale County added Meehan Savoy Road to the list of roads closed until repairs can be made.
Slide Bypass Road is open for traffic.. County Road crews are assessing what needs to be done. This will not be a quick repair.
Water has been receding in Newton and Clarke counties.
