Flooding still causing issues in East Mississippi

Emergency officals are continuing to deal with problems due to heavy rain in the area Saturday. Several cars have been stuck in numerous areas around the city of Meridian, and some roads have been c losed due to high water.

Charlie Dunn Road in Russel is closed with water over it and possibly a bridge washed out according to LEMA.

There was a tree on apartments at Redbud Villa Apartments. Trees have also fallen on a house in the 5200 block of 33rd Place and the 4600 Block of 30th Street. Heavy rain continues to cause major issues across East Mississppi.

Clarke County EMA director Eddie Ivy says the river is up in Quitman but no major flooding has been reported.
