We are starting off the day warm and muggy with temperatures in the mid 70s. A few cirrus clouds are streaming down from the northwest but it is a dry start to the day. Thunderstorms will be possible again this afternoon with high temperatures near 95. It could feel like 106 - 109. If you are lucky enough to see rain today, that will knock temperatures down a bit. A heat advisory is in effect again this afternoon for the entire viewing area until 7pm this evening. Take it easy outdoors - drink plenty of water and limit your time in the heat.
This weekend, afternoon storms are likely for your Saturday. Don't cancel outdoor plans - just have a back-up plan in place. Sunday through Tuesday, a ridge of high pressure to our west will continue to build eastward over the southeast. Rain coverage will be limited in the afternoons so we will see high temperatures in the upper 90s with heat index values near 110.
