MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Nice weather is the story of the week. We are seeing a full 7-day forecast without the chance for rain. Temperatures will remain slightly below average starting the week and we will begin to range into the upper 60s- low 70s mid week which is normal for this time of year. Tonight some cloud cover will be sticking around and lows will drop into the lower 40s. Tomorrow will be a beautiful afternoon with clearer skies than we saw today. Highs will be in the upper 50s with lows dipping into the middle 30s making for a chilly Saturday night, and a chilly start to Sunday morning.
Throughout the week the weather pattern remains cool and dry. The first day of Spring is Wednesday and it will really start beginning to feel like it. Starting mid-week ridging begins to take place over the eastern U.S. allowing our temperatures to increase slightly. Thursday we will be seeing mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the lower 70s and lows in the lower 40s.
Friday and into the weekend we will really begin to warm up into those mid to upper 70s. At this time we will begin tracking a system developing out west off of the Mexican Plateau. This low will be moving into west Texas by Friday afternoon. Do not worry next Saturday will not be compromised due to rain. Right now we can just expect a few more clouds with temperatures in the upper 70s, and some areas reaching 80. The next chance for rain in the twin states should enter at the start of next week.
