Glow Run raises money for medical mission trip

Northcrest Baptist Church held their third annual Glow Run Saturday at Bonita Lakes Park.

Members of the church and from around the community of all ages took part in this special run to help raise funds for a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

The race was made up of a two mile walk, fun run and a 5k run. Northcrest Associate Pastor Wade Phillips tells us what the mission trip is all about.

"Our mission is to take the gospel to the world. The great commission but our specific mission here is to take it to the people of the Dominican Republic,” Phillips says. “Jay and Courtney have been there for about three years now and we send teams and individuals down there several times per year so our mission in this instance is to get the gospel of the of the Dominican Republic.”

280 people registered for the run, which makes it the biggest year for the Glow Run.
