Hot and dry end to this week, storms returning Sunday

Happy Friday! Temperatures are in the upper-60s and low-70s on our Friday morning, with dew points having fallen mainly into the upper-60s. This means the air is more comfortable than it has been as of late. A hot and dry day is in store for our Friday as highs climb into the upper-90s. The heat index will be around 98 to 103 degrees this afternoon. So despite the hot air temperatures, luckily we will not be seeing the heat index climb above 110 like we saw this past Monday and Tuesday. We'll see clear skies overnight, with Saturday morning lows once again in the upper-60s to low-70s.

Even hotter temperatures are expected on Saturday as highs climb to right around 100 degrees. The heat index will top out at 105 Saturday afternoon. We'll once again see plenty of sunshine on our Saturday, although there may be a few more passing clouds than compared to Friday.

Storm chances will return by Sunday as a series of disturbances is set to move through. We'll see a chance of scattered, mainly afternoon showers and thunderstorms Sunday through Wednesday. No one day will be a wash-out, but make sure to keep that rain gear handy during this time frame. Because of the increased rain chances and cloud cover, highs will mainly be in the low-90s through Wednesday, although the heat index may climb up to 100 degrees at times. Rain chances will be reduced on Thursday, bringing up our high temperatures to the mid-90s.
