This evening will be hazy, but the smell of smoke around Meridian will gradually get better. Expect clear conditions otherwise with temperatures drop from 90s to 80s by 7-8 PM. The 80s will become 70s by 10 PM, and low temperatures by morning will be in the upper 60s. Friday will be sunny and hot. The high temperature will be near 96 degrees with heat indices of 100-105 degrees. Saturday starts with upper 60s and warms beneath sunshine to the upper 90s. Heat indices will be nearing 105 degrees.
The jet stream winds up around 35,000 feet often dictate path of storm systems. The jet stream will begin to adjust on Sunday toward a pattern that will favor the return of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. As that pattern locks into place, scattered showers and thunderstorms will become the normal thing Monday through Wednesday. Storms could be to diminish next Thursday.
