Hundreds shopped at local gift show in Meridian

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)- The annual holiday gift show kicked off Saturday. There was a big turnout.

Hundreds came out for the 5th Annual Holiday Extravaganza Gift Show at the Tommy Dulaney Center. The event had holiday decorations, clothes, home decorations, jewelry, candles, and other handmade items for sale. There were over a hundred vendor booths, several door prizes, and entertainment. Organizers of the event say their goal is for people to shop locally and to support local businesses.

“We just want to make sure we get bigger and bigger. We want to have a unique shopping experience for our customers. One-stop-shop is what we say it is. You can find jewelry and all different things here, instead of going to different areas and shops,” says event organizer Cacie Brown.

“It increases every year, and this time it’s a real blowout,” says Becky Brown.

Organizers say the only problem they had this year is there wasn’t enough parking for all the business they were getting.
