Jury returns not guilty verdict in drug trial

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - A Lauderdale County jury has acquitted a man who was charged with drug trafficking in April 2017.

James Gardner, Jr., of Dothan, Ala., stood trial in Meridian this week on a drug trafficking charge.

Gardner was stopped by police while driving a rental car. Police found 21 packages of cocaine and a pound of meth hidden inside.
