MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - A line of people were wrapped around Union Station Saturday afternoon for a special holiday treat.

The Kansas City Southern Holiday Express made a stop in the Queen City Saturday. Each boxcar was decorated inside and out with Christmas decorations. People were able go inside the boxcars to see all the decorations and even had to chance to see Santa Claus. City officials say the KCS train never fails to bring Christmas cheer to the city of Meridian.

"This is always such a popular holiday event for the city of Meridian. They do such a wonderful job of coming in and delighting children of all ages with the train,” says Community Development Director Laura Carmichael.

The express will be stopped in Newton at 4:00 Sunday afternoon.
