Lauderdale County Schools offers app to report violence, bullying

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Lauderdale County students may now use an app to anonymously report concerns like violence, bullying or even alcohol use on campus.

P3 Campus is used in over 16,000 schools in the United States. With the help of East Mississippi Crimestoppers, it's now being used in Lauderdale County.

"Our students need an out," said executive director of East Mississippi Crimestoppers, Pam Vance. "This is just one of those ways and it's anonymous; they don't have to worry about 'snitches get stitches'."

P3 Campus is designed so students can make their worries known without being directly involved in a situation, which may make them not want to report it.

Deputy Robby McClure with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department says he believes P3 will be a successful addition to the district.

"It seemed like something we could utilize and try to get in our school district to provide an outlet for the children to report things," McClure said.

Parents are also encouraged to use P3 Campus.
