Law enforcement issues warning for Spring Breakers

LAUDERDALE CO., Miss. (WTOK) - Spring Break is here, and local law enforcement is warning students to celebrate safely.

Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says many college and high school students make poor choices during Spring Break, like participating in parties that get out of control or drinking and driving. Calhoun says law enforcement will be out in the community working to keep people safe, and they want you to remember that your actions can impact the rest of your life.

"I would encourage people to remember that while you might be on Spring Break, Spring Break can mess up lots of things in your life," Calhoun says. "Don't be one of those persons who ends up making a bad choice that ends up messing up something they've worked for for years."

Most students in Alabama will be on Spring Break later this month.
