Local chairmen of Distinguished Young Women from across the Magnolia state were in Meridian Saturday for their annual meeting.
The meeting was held at the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church. State volunteers presented the local committee members with updated information to help them prepare for this year's programs. Newscenter 11 spoke with this year's state titleholder about why girls should participate in the program.
Rebekah Williams, DYW of Mississippi of 2020 said, "I definitely recommend you just go for it and you put yourself out there. Because the things that I learned this year have changed my life completely. I couldn't imagine have no doing this program and especially be in the position that I'm in. So just work hard and go for it. And do your best.”
