Locals begin cleanup after severe weather

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)- The cleanup continues for residents in Lauderdale County after severe weather.

Wednesday's severe weather led to days of cleanup for many residents across the county. Broken trees covered driveways and the smell of pine filled the air for one family business that took significant damage. Pieces of the business were torn and blown into trees. The family all pitched in to help with the cleanup along with their big helper 10-year-old Carson Smith. Smith says he loves doing yard work and helping his family.

"All the trees that were broken were cutting it up and loading it in the loader. We're dumping it off and getting it all back to normal," says resident Michelle Smith.

The family says they are grateful no one was hurt.
