LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - Residents of Lauderdale County had the opportunity to identify different types of dangerous weather Thursday night.
The National Weather Service hosted its Storm Spotters class at West Lauderdale High School. Residents learned how to spot and report tornadoes, flash flooding and severe thunderstorms.
They were able to educate others on just what can happen if you're ill-prepared in severe weather situations.
“The National Weather Service came over to deliver the class to the public and our first responders to educate during weather events,” volunteer LEMA operations officer Ben Duett says. “Storm spotters become very important to us.”
If you missed the class, you can call 601-963-2189.
