Log truck crashes into York business

YORK, Ala. (WTOK) -- A log truck crashed into an Alfa Insurance office in York this morning. The business is located on 4th Avenue. No one was hurt. Only one person was inside in the building at the time of the crash. Luckily, she was in an area that was not hit by the truck. An ambulance arrived on scene to check the driver. Police Chief Ray McVay says faulty brakes could be the reason for the accident.

"It appears after speaking with the driver, he came off of Country Club Road here, and when he came off there he noticed his brakes weren't stopping. So he said he thinks his air brakes went out and that didn't allow him to stop so he just came on across the road at a minimal speed but it was going fast enough to clear that hill then go up there."

Nearby residents say they heard commotion and sirens after the crash happened.
