LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - There was a large pile-up Tuesday on Interstate 20 coming into Meridian.
Nine cars wrecked, including a log truck. Traffic was backed up for two hours. Some traffic was re-routed to Highway 80 during the cleanup.
Several people were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
"A log truck traveling eastbound ran into the rear of the slowed traffic collecting nine vehicles total. Five of those vehicles were passenger vehicles and four were semis," MHP Sergeant Andy West says.
Meehan and Lost Gap volunteer fire departments, Lauderdale Emergency Management Agency and Metro Ambulance responded to the crash.
