A Wayne County man died Thursday after being run over by a log truck while on the job in Clarke County.
Chief Deputy Barry White says the man was a logger for Deep Well in the Pine Hill community. He was securing straps on one of the vehicles, when the truck's driver thought the area was clear.
The driver pulled the truck forward, driving the trailer over the man standing by the axle. Ambulances were dispatched to County Road 334 around 6 a.m.
The logger was taken to the hospital but later died of his injuries. His name was not immediately released.
