MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves was in Meridian Tuesday afternoon to officially announce his candidacy for governor to the people of east Mississippi.
Reeves spoke to people at Structural Steel Tuesday afternoon. He told the crowd that it warms his heart to see people working. He talked about continuing economic growth in the state of Mississippi. When it comes to what he would focus on in east Mississippi, reeves says he will continue his focus on bringing in new jobs.
“We believe that in east central Mississippi we need a win. We need to see just one company make a decision to locate here, to expand here. Success begets success. I’m optimistic about the economic prospects of this region of our state because I know the kind of people that live here,” Reeves says.
Reeves faces Bill Waller, Jr. and Rep. Robert Foster in the Republican primary.
