MBCI: Choctaw Health Center paid in full

CHOCTAW, Miss. (WTOK) - The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians announced Tuesday that the final payment has been made on the Choctaw Health Center.

It was one of the last official duties for Chief Phyliss Anderson. New chief, Cyrus Ben, takes the oath of office Tuesday afternoon.

“I want the Choctaw people to know I have always been true to my word and the responsibility of financial stability," said Anderson in a news release. "I am leaving the Tribe in good financial standing and I have been so honored to serve our people and build our Tribe for future generations to enjoy.”

Anderson opened the new Choctaw Health Center Mar. 2, 2015. The 180,000 square foot, three-story structure replaced a previous facility that was built in 1975.
