Meridian Community College added four new members to its Hall of Fame Monday as part of 2020 homecoming festivities.

Major League Baseball player Corey Dickerson, Associate Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court Kenny Griffis, longtime retail shopping developer Mike Ponds and board certified nurse executive Betty Young-Cryer make up the Class of 2020.

"It was a great bridge between high school and a four year college for me," said Griffis. " It was a great opportunity to learn how to study for college, how to prepare myself and how to really prepare to be the man I've become."

"I loved my days at MCC," said Young-Cryer. "They were actually the foundation of my nursing career. They will always be special to me. They're the DNA of my soul."

Dr. James Dauphine, Lorenzo Naylor and Bill Pierce received the Talon Club Award, recognizing 30 years of service to MCC.
