MCC participates in "My College Cares" day

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Meridian Community College students were lending a helping hand all around town Tuesday morning for the annual “My College Cares” day.

Students, faculty, staff and administrators could be found at 82 locations across Meridian doing everything from re-painting the inside of the
Temple Theatre to planting flowers outside the Meridian Public Library.

“I think it’s a good idea for MCC and students to partner with the community, show that we actually care about the community doing things like this. And it’ll make a positive mark in the community you know,” says freshman, Nathaniel Carstafhnuer.

Students also volunteered at Loves Kitchen, the Hope Village Thrift Store, and a few local churches.
