MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Multi County Community Service Agency hosted a luncheon to honor military veterans Friday.

MCCSA and the Foster Grandparent Program invited all local veterans and families to join in the event. Everyone was given a free lunch from McAlister's.

Foster Grandparent coordinator, Sabrina Wilson, says it is important for everyone to appreciate what our military does for our country.

"In honoring those who sacrifice their life for us in order for us to have freedom daily. That for young people, and not just the young but people in general in the United States, to appreciate and to recognize all the opportunities that we have that other people that live in other countries do not have as far as freedom," said Wilson.

There was a POW/MIA table ceremony to honor and remember those who never returned home, as well as music, singing and messages from guest speakers.
