As the temperatures drop, Multi-County Community Service Agency is making an effort to help low-income homes be more energy efficient.

On Friday, National Weatherization Day, MCCSA workers offered tips and and solutions to help keep utility bills low.

"We have a weatherization house where we show what a weatherization audit is," said Ron Collier, MCCSA director. "It shows how densely installation should be impacted it shows what type of installation should be used. Say in the attic versus a crawls space and the walls"

To qualify for the assistance, Collier says people must first apply for it by making an appointment at the MCCSA office in one of the nine counties it serves.
