MPD discusses truck stop armed robbery details

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Meridian police are discussing what happened in Friday night's armed robbery.

It happened around 10:30 p.m. at the Queen City Truck Stop on North Frontage Road.

Sergeant Dareall Thompson says a man entered the business and pulled a gun on the clerk.

Thompson says this happened at the trucker entrance located on the backside of the business. He says the man then grabbed the drawer out of the cash register. He left running out of the back of the business toward the train tracks.

Investigators say they were able to recover some evidence near the wooded area behind the business.

Police describe the suspect as a black male who was wearing a green reflective vest and a mask.
