Sollie said Joseph Covington Bass has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

"The persons that were able to communicate with the first responders were able to provide who was operating the ATV," Sollie said.

Bass was located at his home on Windsor Road hours later. Bond was set at $10,000 and Bass has bonded out of jail.

Bass was allegedly driving the ATV when it crashed in a pasture near the intersection of Windsor Rd. and Highway 493.

"When first responders arrived on the scene, they found numerous people injured and the investigation continued as people were transported to area hospitals and some airlifted to Jackson," said Sheriff Sollie.

We've also got an update on some of the victims who were airlifted to Jackson after the accident. Pastor Tom Sikes of Prospect Presbyterian Church said Monday morning that two victims hospitalized in Jackson were expected to be discharged Monday.

A third person remains in the hospital.

A total of six people were hurt in the accident late Saturday night on private property off Windsor Road.
