Man dead after being shot in head, driving into house
A man is dead after police say he was shot in the head and drove into a house.
It happened about 5:30 p.m. Monday in the 2200 block of 26th Avenue. Chief Benny Dubose tells Newscenter 11 they're still trying to sort out the circumstances of what happened and whether the shot was self-inflicted. Coroner Clayton Cobler confirms the man was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
The driver was later identified as Jeremiah "Miles" Stephens, 34.
Cobler said Tuesday that the death was a homicide. The investigation continues.
