CLARKE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - UPDATE: Two people were taken into custody Thursday night after a manhunt in Clarke County. Sheriff Todd Kemp says Christopher Calloway and Stephanie Calloway, both 43, of Gray Court, S. Carolina, rear-ended a car in Tuscaloosa and hijacked it.

"Jerked the female subject out of the car at gunpoint and threw her to the ground," says Kemp. "He took her vehicle and fled the scene."
The victim called Tuscaloosa PD, who notified OnStar. The vehicle was tracked westbound on I-20, but the Calloways made it to I-59 south.
"Trooper Anthony Chancellor who was working Clarke County was aware of the information put out by the substation in Meridian," says Kemp. "He in turn spotted the vehicle. He notified his superiors and they were attempting to do a rolling stop on the vehicle."
Sheriff Kemp says OnStar shut the vehicle down. When that happened the two got out of the car and took off running in different directions. The Calloways were able to get away from officers due to darkness.
"They were probably 300 yards west of the interstate behind a home laying in a wooded area," says Sheriff Kemp.
Sheriff Kemp says Mississippi Highway Patrol flew their helicopter over the wooded area and used an infrared camera to detect the Calloways. They were taken into custody without incident and are currently being held at the Clarke County jail.
"These individuals are wanted in numerous states for carjacking and armed robbery from Florida to South Carolina and now, Alabama. They will be extradited back to Tuscaloosa."

Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching the woods around Interstate 59 near Enterprise for a black male who officials say took a woman's car at gunpoint in Tuscaloosa Wednesday afternoon. The car was tracked by OnStar to Clarke County where a Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper followed the vehicle. The man in the vehicle got out and ran into the woods near mile marker 132. Sheriff Todd Kemp says officials are also searching for a woman who was involved in the carjacking as well.
