Meridian Arts Council announces 2020 grants program

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - The Meridian Council for the Arts announced the 2020 Community Arts Grants Program Friday.

It provides grants to non-profit organizations including arts organizations, schools, colleges and universities. The goal is to provide cultural and arts education opportunities for every school.

Applications are now available for area artists and arts organizations in Meridian and Lauderdale County.

“This is our effort in making a big difference in the lives of our citizens in our community. Art is a very big part of our economic development. It’s also a big part of our quality of life. Our assistance makes it possible for other people to achieve their goals,” says arts council president, Betty Lou Jones.

The deadline to turn in applications is Dec. 2. Organizations or individual artists who are awarded a grant will be notified Jan. 20, 2020.
