Meridian, MISS. (WTOK) - If you haven't made Valentine’s Day plans yet, a local organization wants you to show the community love by going out for dinner!
United Way has teamed up with four restaurants in Meridian who have agreed to share a portion of profits made Thursday. Organizers say it's a way to celebrate the holiday while doing something good for others.
Cater’s Market, McAlisters at Bonita Lakes, Weidmanns and Mugshots are taking part. Chris Bullock from Cater’s Market says they're happy to be a part of it.
“Being a small business, it's important to give back to the community and our owner, Jamie Cater, sees that United Way is a very good way to do that. It’s because of what they're doing with the money. They're turning around and giving it to 22 non-profits throughout this area and we think that's really important," Bullock said.
Among those 22 non-profits are Care Lodge, Hope Village and the Boys and Girls Club.
