MARYLAND (Gray DC) -- Naysa Modi could not stop smiling after she learned she was moving on to the final round of the National Spelling Bee.

“This was my goal now I hope to go even further!" Modi said.

Modi successfully spelled her way into the championship round. Every word spelled with a smile.

“I’m not sure that I have a secret, but something that I would say is to just keep calm," Modi added.

Her performance is gaining the little Louisiana native a following, from Monroe to across the globe.

“Even way back home in India, our parents our extended family they are watching on ESPN Sony and they are extremely happy they are sending blessings and good wishes for her all through the competition," her father Nayan Modi said.

As Modi prepares to enter the final stage of the competition she keeps this motto.

“Keep calm and keep spelling," she said.

Whatever the outcome it’s certain Modi will come away with a smile.
