MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Over 250 students at Meridian Community College are now college graduates after walking across the stage Friday.

Friends and family packed the Temple Theater to show their support for the graduates. The graduates come from a variety of fields including cosmetology, emergency management and nursing. Students we talked to say they are glad graduation day is finally here.

"I’m overjoyed. It's a lot of hard work that was put into this, not only being in the military, but also being able to juggle both of them working full time while going to school full time. Today feels amazing,” says Emergency Management and Communication Technology graduate Jerome Miller.

"It’s literally been blood sweat and tears from all of us in nursing school. We are just so glad to be here and it's just like, it's finally here, it's all coming to an end,” says Nursing graduate Megan Ingram.

Eight students were also honored with the Circle of Excellence medallions and certificates.
