Name released in Wednesday homicide
Authorities on Thursday released the name of the person killed in Meridian’s second homicide of the year. Coroner Clayton Cobler says 31-year-old Rodney Harris was the man shot to death Wednesday night at his home.
Harris was a well-known member of the community and leaves behind a wife and children. Police are saying they still have no person of interest in the case.
The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on 36th Street. Investigators say Harris had just gotten home from work and was walking toward his front door when someone opened fire, hitting Harris multiple times.
Meridian police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a potential suspect. They ask for anyone that might have been in the area at the time to call police or Crimestoppers (855-485-8477) with information.
