Dr. Scott Alsobrooks will assume the post at EMCC early in the spring term that begins in January. He currently works as vice president of economic development at Pearl River Community College.

He brings three decades of experience to the position and says he's ready to hit the ground running.

"With the communiversity building coming out of the ground you know there at the Golden Triangle, I'm super excited and just ready to go to work with the faculty and staff at East Mississippi and the stakeholders out in the community," said Dr. Alsobrooks. "It's just very exciting."

The hiring of Alsobrooks ends a five-month search for a replacement. Dr. Thomas Huebner resigned from EMCC to take over as president at Meridian Community College.
