Numbers are in for Toython

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - The United Way has organized, tallied and distributed toys collected in WTOK's Toython.

Thanks to your generous donations, Toython brought in over $36,000 worth of toys for children in our community.

United Way said there were 45 bikes (approximately $4000), 10 helmets ($300), 15 ride-on toys ($375), 3 scooters ($100), 4 pogo sticks ($125), 18 remote control cars ($450), 2 large item toys (mini trampoline and train table ($250)), 250 board games/puzzles, 350 arts/crafts items, 300 baby dolls/Barbie dolls, 150 sports balls, 100 Lego sets, 300 cars/trains/motorcycles, 100 stuffed animals, and 350 other assorted baby/girl/boy toys collected from a very generous community.

The toys have been distributed to five agencies that serve children, Care Lodge, Salvation Army, Cans for Kids, Wesley House and Hope Village for Children.
